Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet plays Lodi

Sample the vital future of jazz at the next "Night Time Live" concert, presented by the Lodi Arts Commission on Friday, Feb. 28th at 7:30 pm at Hutchins Street Square in Lodi. The Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet, or "Take Five," features the finest players from across the country, whose love for jazz and dedication to the art form belie their youth. The group includes saxophonist Tommy Morimoto, trumpeter Anthony Coleman III, pianist Fabian Almazan, bassist Joe Sanders, and drummer Justin Brown.

What's new on KXJZ?

Pianist Benny Green and guitarist Russell Malone are two of the most critically-acclaimed jazz musicians working today. They have recorded together previously in larger groups, but "Live at the Bistro" (Telarc) marks their first-ever collection of duets.

The Saturday Blues Party with Mick Martin 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. on 88.9 KXJZ and 90.5 KKTO is one of the most popular offerings from Capital Public Radio. Listen and you'll find out why!
